I made these earrings with vintage champagne coloured pearl beads that were made in Japan probably late 1940s -1950s. They are very much in the baroque (dimpled) style favoured by Mirriam Haskell, and have a beautiful lustre (you can see my reflection in the photos). I removed the original head pins due to corrosion and added vintage rhinestone rondelles made in Czechoslovakia to create an elegant and timeless look. I finished them with 14 K Gold Filled hooks.
These earrings measure just under 4 cm from the top of the hook to the base of the drop.
Sustainably made in Australia, they contain vintage materials which hold evidence of their former life in a deepened patina and minor wear; I think that is what gives them so much charm.
