These earrings have been upcycled from a pair of unusual funky plastic screw-back earrings made circa 1960s. They are inset with rhinestones having the Aurora Borealis coating to reflect the colours of the rainbow. I have added a small length of vintage brass chain so that they dangle and swing to catch the light. They are finished with 14K Gold Filled hooks.
These earrings measure 5.5 cm from the top of the hook to the base of the drop. The circular section is about 2 cm in diameter.
Sustainably made in Australia, these earrings contain vintage repurposed materials which show some evidence of a deepened patina and wear due to age. I think that is what gives them so much charm.
