These lovely crystal earrings have been upcycled from a pair of screw-back earrings dating from the late 1950s-1960s. The crystals have the Aurora Borealis coating which was invented in the early 1950s. This is what causes light to reflect from the crystals in rainbow colours. They are suspended from sterling silver hooks.
These earrings measure approximately 3 cm from the top of the hook to the base of the drop.
These earrings have been lovingly made with some vintage materials which hold some evidence of their former life in a deepened patina and minor wear. I think that is what gives them so much charm.
