I have combined a vintage chandelier crystal, a large antique key, a 1940s red rhinestone pendant, a vintage plated steel chain and some beautiful vintage Czech red glass beads to make this gorgeous necklace. I found the red beads at a flea market in Prague last year. They have faceted tops and round bottoms, so I assume that may have been unfinished... but I will never know their story. The key has been polished with Renaissance wax to seal it.
The chain measures 80.5 cm around the neck edge with the pendant dropping 9 cm below the chain.
Sustainably made in Australia, this necklace contains vintage and repurposed materials. These hold some evidence of their former life in a deepened patina and minor wear; I think that is what gives them so much charm.
