I love the soft shades of pink, grey, gold and green in the Abalone shell at the centre of this reimagined necklace. These colours remind me of the clouds seen while walking along a southern beach at dawn, which is of course what inspired its name.
The focus of this necklace is a vintage brooch made circa 1960s set with Abalone shell which I have matched it with black freshwater pearls and repurposed vintage glass seed beads.
Measuring 48.5 cm along the neck edge it is finished with a hook clasp.
This beautiful necklace has been sustainably made using vintage and repurposed materials. These hold some evidence of their former life in a deepened patina and minor wear; I think that is what gives them so much charm.
Handmade in Australia.
