A vintage moulded celluloid yellow and white daisy is at the centre of this small clip. This whimsical flower was made in post-war Japan circa 1950s - 60s, and was sourced from old warehouse stock. It is designed to be worn as a hair clip but could also be worn on the neckline of a dress or jacket.
It has been glued to a small filigree clip base in an antique bronze colour. The clip measures 3.5 cm in length and is 2.5 cm in diameter.
I made this item in my workshop. It contains vintage repurposed materials which hold some evidence of their former life in a deepened patina and minor wear; I think that is what gives them so much charm.
