Do you know the constellation Carina?
One of the most visible constellations in the southern sky is named Carina and contains 9 brilliant stars. This asymmetrical necklace was created with elements sourced from a vintage textured metal belt set with rhinestones. Nine large oval flat back rhinestones stand out brightly like stars in the night sky.
This necklace can be worn with the hook clasp at the back or on the side to change the look when worn. I have polished and sealed the metal surfaces with Renaissance Wax.
This necklace is:
- ethically and sustainably made
- one of a kind
- made with vintage repurposed elements from a mid-century belt
- 46.5 cm in total length around the neck edge (refer to my necklace guide for more information)
- finished with a hook clasp.
Handmade in my Melbourne workshop, this necklace contains vintage repurposed materials. These hold evidence of their former life in a deepened patina and minor wear; I think that is what gives them so much charm.
