I made this necklace using a broken but beautiful 1960s Lisner brooch (the pin was broken away). In the form of a floral bouquet, it is set with iridescent Aurora Borealis coated dark turquoise coloured rhinestones which pop against black flower petals.
I have combined it with some beautiful turquoise coloured vintage beads sourced from old warehouse stock. They have a textured, almost Art Deco feel to them as well as a hint of iridescence. I have added black seed beads to match the colour theme of the necklace.
This necklace measures 45.5 cm along the neck edge and has a 6 cm extender chain so that it can be worn at different lengths to match your mood or your outfit.
I also made some "Botanica" earrings to match.
Sustainably made, this necklace contains vintage and repurposed materials which hold some evidence of their former life in a deepened patina and minor wear. I think that is what gives them so much charm.
