A fabulous silver-toned dress clip from the 1940s with a blue centred flower draws the eye to this necklace. I have combined it with faceted Lapis Lazuli nuggets on Sterling Silver wire and a vintage book chain from the 1960s. A small extender chain utilising repurposed Lapis Lazuli beads finishes the design and allows you to adjust the length. The dress clip retains it's functionality as I have not removed the clip hardware from this piece.
Lapis Lazuli is also called the stone of truth, encouraging honesty of the spirit, and in all forms of deep communication. It is also a stone of friendship and is said to bring harmony in relationships.
The necklace measures 52.5 cm along the neck edge with an extender chain of 5.5 cm. It is finished with a hook clasp.
I have made this necklace with vintage and repurposed materials. These hold some evidence of their former life in a deepened patina and minor wear; I think that is what gives them so much charm.
