A flash of blue...
This elegant necklace features a silver grey and blue dress clip from the 1940s made in the form of a rose. I have combined it with faceted semi-precious Labradorite beads to create a beautiful statement piece that could be dressed up or down depending on your mood.
Labradorite is found in both light and dark forms and is best known for the flash of blue or green colour that can be seen within. It is known as a stone of transformation because of its changing colours, and is said to enhance one's strength of will and sense of inner worth.
It measures 47 cm along the neck edge and is finished with a repurposed box clasp with a floral design. The dress clip which is still functional measures 3.5 cm wide by 5.5 cm long.
Sustainably made in Australia, this necklace contains some vintage and repurposed materials which show evidence of their age in a deepened patina and minor wear. I think this gives them great charm.
