I made these earrings with vintage champagne coloured pearl beads and vintage rhinestone rondelles that I sourced from old warehouse stock. They are very much in the baroque (dimpled) style favoured by Miriam Haskell, and have a beautiful lustre (you can see my reflection in the photos). I removed the original head pins due to corrosion and added the rhinestone rondelles to create an elegant and timeless look.
These earrings are:
- ethically and sustainably made
- limited edition
- made with vintage baroque style pearl beads made in Japan probably late 1940s-50s and Czechoslovakian rhinestone rondelles circa 1970s-80s
- 5 cm in length
- Suspended on 14 carat gold filled hooks
These earrings have been made in my Melbourne workshop with vintage materials which hold some evidence of their former life in a deepened patina and minor wear; I think that is what gives them so much charm.
